Hi Ty Bsc IT Students,

Myself Jayesh Gopalan and i had completed my bsc it from Mumbai University and in my Ty Bsc IT project i had scored 195 marks.Me and my two friends have been providing project guidance training to Ty Bsc IT students.

In the previous year we have provided project guidance training to 56 batches[120+ students] from all the colleges of Mumbai university.

Let me start with a common problem faced by all my Ty Bsc IT friends.

"Sem 6 Project" this word will start a big tension in Ty Bsc IT students mind.

Every final year student of bsc it face this problem of how to do Ty Bsc IT project.The one thing i have heard among all the students is that "Hatke project karna hai".but the problem with them is that they don't know what to do ? how to do ? which technology to choose ? how to start ?

1: Which project to choose for Ty Bsc IT?

See there are two ways of selecting Ty Bsc IT projects:

1.Either you can approach any company and request them to automate their common tasks or to solve common problem or bugs in their existing software.

2.Students can even start with some ideas which they have in mind or take some existing project and try to make it better.see the main is that you have to show external examiner "What is new in your Project?".

So i would suggest it doesn't matter what your project is and the only thing that matter is:

1.Do you know your project flow ?

2.Full project understanding is very important.

2: Which project topic to choose for bsc it project ?

Students can either choose from the following two project for tybsc it projects:

1. Desktop Application.

2. Web Application Project.

See project selection will largely depend on your project or client requirement. If your project or client requirement need to be installed or accessed for one machine or single user. then it would be better to choose Desktop Application. On the other hand if your project need to installed or accessed from multiple machine then choose Web Application Project.

3.Which technology to choose for Ty Bsc IT projects?

4.what will external examiner ask in project viva ?

This is one of the most important question from a student's point of view. The external is going to check and give you marks based on:

1:Understanding about the working and the flow of your project.

2:Whether your project has proper validation and reports.

3:Be crystal clear about how the things are and why you have done so.

So here i have answered about the doubts related to project viva.

And as the chinese proverb goes "He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; he who does not ask a question remains a Fool forever."
